High-Performance Swimmers Take Charlotte

Last week, the road to Rio wound its way through North Carolina. The four-day 2015 Arena Pro Swim Series at Charlotte featured world-class competition and, off on the sidelines, a world-class training pool. Our High-Performance Endless Pool® welcomed swimmers for warm-ups and impromptu coaching sessions.

From SwimMAC Team Elite, Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace and Olympic gold medalists Tyler Clary, Kirsty Coventry, Cullen Jones, and Ryan Lochte all spent time doing some last-minute stroke refinement in our pool.

Also taking on our High-Performance current were Olympic gold medalists Conor Dwyer and Breeja Larson, Olympic medalist César Cielo, NCAA Champion Josh Schneider, and 15-year-old sensation Reece Whitley.

Jessica Hardy, also a 2012 Olympic gold medalist, stopped by to let us know that she’s been using USC’s Elite Endless Pool regularly for recovery and stroke analysis.

We wish all the athletes the very best in their pursuit of Olympic gold in 2016!

Before Breeja Larson took Arena Pro bronze in the 50m breaststroke, she refined her signature stroke in the High Performance Endless Pool. In 2012, she was the NCAA 100-yard breaststroke champion and won Olympic gold as part of the U.S. 4x100-meter medley relay team.

Kim Brackin Launches 'BEST' Training, Featuring Elite Model Endless Pool

Internationally-renowned swim coach Kim Brackin has announced the launch of her new Austin-based company, BEST (Brackin Elite Swim Training), that focuses on combining the art and science of swimming using the latest technology to take swimmers to the next level.

At the forefront of Brackin's training tools is the Elite Model Endless Pool®, which features a sub 50-second 100-yard pace, video capture, and underwater mirrors.

"We're thrilled to add Kim to the roster of coaches who use the Endless Pool Elite to bring their athletes' training to the next level," said James Murdock, CEO and Founder of Endless Pools. "Combining our revolutionary pool with her years of expertise will allow Kim to instantly improve swimmers from any background."

The former head women's swimming coach at the University of Texas has setup camp less than a mile from the school, and is excited to get to work training athletes in her new facility utilizing the innovative technology of the Endless Pool.

“Most coaches never have the privilege of spending one-on-one pool time with each athlete, working repetitiously on technique to improve speed,” said Brackin. “At BEST, I can provide individualized attention to high-performance swimmers—including college-bound, collegiate and masters swimmers as well as triathletes—in a controlled environment where they can see and feel the difference in their technique like never before."

The Elite Model Endless Pool, currently in use by college programs such as Auburn, Kentucky, Indiana, and Harvard, will let Brackin observe swimmers from multiple angles, and allow the athletes to make real-time adjustments through the use of mirrors and video technology.

With the assistance of the Endless Pool, the possibilities are limitless for a coach who has trained many world-class swimmers, including Kirsty Coventry, who captured Olympic Gold in both the 2004 and 2008 Games.
