"Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy": a Letter from an Endless Pool Owner

Hi John!

I am sorry it has taken me so long to write to tell you how much I love my Endless Pool!

We finished our backyard renovations this summer. The pool is absolutely amazing! I LOVE it so much! Not only is it fabulous for swimming against your incredible current, but I floated in the pool all summer reading my waterproof Kindle. It was the most joyous summer!

The arrival of winter in Calgary has not slowed me down. I still swim almost every day! I have the pool set at 90 degrees and the hot tub at 104, and it's absolutely not an issue to get into the pool for a winter swim. It's so comfortable and so relaxing. Winter swimming is honestly as enjoyable as summer swimming.

My husband, Jim, is in charge of pool maintenance and has come across no issues. The pool is very easy to maintain. Also, our electricity bill saw only a minor bump. I was amazed! The pool cover is also easy peasy lemon squeezy to open and close. We have the lift assist for the pool end and just lift the hot tub end to the side. I do it solo all the time with absolutely no issue.

Thanks for the amazing service, John, and for our incredible pool. It has been worth every single penny! In fact, I'm going out for a swim right now!

Before & After the Kukals Got an Endless Pool

“The greatest thing we’ve ever done” – that’s Joe Kukal’s assessment of the 15’ Endless Pool® Swim Spa that he and his wife, Pat, installed in their all-season patio room last January. To put that gushing praise into context, you need to understand a little about the Kukals’ recent past.

In 2000, Pat was disabled with back troubles. After that, as she bluntly puts it, “I got bad; I got fat.” Five years later, she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Joe’s disability followed two years after that; he had asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). He’d soon undergo two back surgeries and separate knee and neck surgeries, which would leave him on three different painkilling pharmaceuticals, three times a day.

“That,” as he now recalls, “was before the pool.”

Before the Pool
When you live in a small town in Pennsylvania’s northern Lehigh Valley, you expect long drives. And that’s what Pat faced, three times a week, to attend water aerobics classes to alleviate her conditions. “She had to travel half an hour to a pool – rain, snow, sleet, or hail,” Joe recalls. Of course, “had to” doesn’t mean she always did. “Up here,” Pat notes of 2014’s record snowfall, “you just don’t travel 20 miles in the winter.”

Regardless of distance, that pool wasn’t satisfactory for Joe. As Pat recalls, it was “too much chlorine, too cold, he couldn’t get into the pool, whatever.”

Joe and Pat Kukal's 15' Endless Pool Swim Spa, installed in their rural Pennsylvania greenhouse.
For Pat and Joe Kukal, installing this Endless Pool Swim Spa in their all-season patio room signaled the end of an era. She no longer had to drive 40 miles round trip for water aerobics. He began to turn his health around with regular swimming and hydrotherapy - no more oxygen to sleep, fewer painkillers, and 20 pounds lost! "We love it!" he says.

“I Feel Much Better”
Since installing their Endless Pool Swim Spa, “she doesn’t have to” travel, Joe notes gratefully. Pat now does at home “everything I was taught in class” plus standing swim strokes against the Endless Pools current.

WATCH: Endless Pools Gets its Close-up at ITU Edmonton

Olympic triathletes Alistair Brownlee and Jonny Brownlee, who both train regularly in their Endless Pool®, scored twin victories at the 2014 TransCanada Corp. World Triathlon Grand Final in Edmonton.

Alistair took the gold for Edmonton tri, and Jonny earned bronze for the complete eight-city ITU series, of which the Edmonton Final was the culmination. Endless Pools was on hand for the full length of the August 26 – September 1 festivities in Alberta's Capital City.

Our new 7.5-hp Performance Pool saw test-swimmers in Hawrelak Park during the main event over the weekend. Earlier in the week, the Endless Pools Swim Spa in Churchill Square got all the attention.

On Tuesday, Bridget Ryan, host of the popular Breakfast Television™ morning show, donned a wetsuit to interview twin triathletes Mark and Tom Brown from inside our Swim Spa.

Then at noon, ITU’s simulated triathlon raised awareness with local celebrity competitors, including the very fit Mayor Don Iveson. He tried both the Swim Spa’s current and treadmill, as seen in this video from the Edmonton Sun.

A “Seriously Convenient” Pool under a Grand Glass Roof

Endless Pool Swim Spa owner Ivan Eustace with his 8-year-old son.
When Olympian Alistair Brownlee got his first Endless Pool, he called his friend and fellow triathlete, Ivan Eustace. “This is seriously convenient,” Ivan recalls Alistair telling him. That conversation led to a shift in Ivan’s plans for a simple home addition to this stunningly modern, light-filled conservatory.

It’s a decision Ivan appreciates more than he could've imagined. “I fall out of bed and into the pool,” he now says of his morning routine. “It’s spectacular. You can easily bang out half an hour to an hour set in there.”

For this tech executive, the convenience is a critical factor. He resides in County Dublin, Ireland, with his wife and two kids, but work requires him to travel frequently. “If I have a 7:30 flight to London, I just get up half an hour earlier. When you’ve got an Endless Pool there, there’s no excuse. The convenience is amazing!”

Ivan also found that swimming became necessary. As chance would have it, he suffered a torn labrum during a triathlon just weeks before installation was completed. So his swimming pool would serve double-duty as his rehab pool. “Swimming is perfect for it,” he says of his hip injury.

“On a day like today, it almost feels like you’re out in the open,” reports Ivan Eustace. It was 23° C (73° F) on the day he spoke with us, and he was thankful he’d revised his original home addition plans to include conservatory doors that opened onto the yard. Even in colder weather, his compact Endless Pool is affordable to heat – perfect for a safe, comfortable swim under the darker skies of an Irish winter.

Dealer Profile: Tania Brannan, Fastlane Pools Australia

Tania Brannan, Fastlane Pools Australia
Tania Brannan was a former professional triathlete when she and her sister, then on the World Cup triathlon circuit, first discovered Endless Pools. As working moms, they knew the importance of at-home training. “Her search for a suitable swim system was a disaster,” she recalls. “After installing a very expensive swim jet system, she was not able to use the pool for training. She could swim into the wall using only one arm.” When they saw a Fastlane featured in an in-flight magazine, “we both knew this would be more suitable.” Her sister found convenient swim training, and Tania found a new career – as Endless Pools’ sole Australian dealer.

Since launching her dealership in 2006, Tania has seen sales steadily climb. She gives partial credit to the collaborative spirit of Endless Pools’ U.S. headquarters. “The support with marketing, sales, and ongoing customer service is perfect. Endless Pools have provided our business with a large number of leads generated from their extensive online marketing, provided generous hospitality and extensive knowledge with their Dealer and Installer training programs, and always been there for support when required ... even all the way on the other side of the world! I receive emails back during my working hours, which means my international reps are also putting in long hours!”

Endless Pools® Swim Spa featured in Washington Post

The Washington Post featured an Endless Pool Swim Spa in their recent back yard aquatic installations feature. The Wadsworths, a DC-based couple, decided on a complete renovation of their backyard, terracing the slope of their hilly garden with stone walls, and adding a patio with a fire pit, an outdoor kitchen with fireplace and brick oven. They completed the job with a brand new deck fitted with an Endless Pool Swim Spa.
